The minimum age requirement for hatchet and axe throwing is 13 (except for Fridays. & Saturday evenings after 7, when it is 18). Children under 13 are not allowed.  PLEASE NOTE: We have a zero-tolerance policy for underage drinking!

After about 15-20 minutes of training, most guests are hitting the target and honing in on the bullseye. When the group feels ready, it is encouraged to try a variety of hatchet and axe throwing target games. Instructions are in the pit, or you can ask a throwing coach. Want a head start on things? Yes! We have a variety of items on our menu – pizza, nachos, chicken tenders,  hot dogs, tater tots, pretzel bites, and Otis Spunkmeyer cookies! We also have soft drinks, bottled water and energy drinks. For those who are over 21, we’ve got a Pour Your Own Beer system that specializes in craft, domestic and imported beers. Hard seltzers and wine are also available. Sorry, no BYOB at this location. 

Please contact us if you are planning an event for a group of 30 or more, and we will discuss all your options.

Though we will try to accommodate walk-ins whenever possible, it is not something we recommend. We’d hate for you to drive here just to be turned away! Due to the popularity of our hatchet and axe throwing bars, we are normally pretty booked with reservations, especially on the weekends! Our reservation system lists all available times for each day. If no times are listed, we will not have space for you on that date. (Sorry!) However, if we do have slots of open availability, we’d be happy to bring you in! You can also call the location nearest you to ask if it can accommodate you and your group.

Of course! You’re welcome to come and try out our Pour Your Own Beer Wall or have a bite at our snack bar. With that being said, the rule still applies that all Stumpy’s guests must still meet the minimum age requirements of that location, whether they are throwing or not. Underage drinking is not tolerated.

We are open 5 Days a week, Wednesday-Sunday.

• WEDNESDAY-THURSDAY: 4PM-10PM
• FRIDAY: 4PM-MIDNIGHT
• SATURDAY: 2PM-MIDNIGHT
• SUNDAY: 12PM-9PM

If you are part of a group of 1-4 people, you will need to reserve a one hour time slot. The cost per person is $29.99  for the hour.

Groups of 4 or more will require 2 hours. The cost per person is $49.99 for the two hour time slot.

For those who want to be part of the party, but are unable to throw hatchets, the non-thrower fee is $15 plus tax.

Stumpy’s has plenty of parking in the Stony Point Fashion Park mall parking lot. For the nearest entrance, park your car near PF Changs. We are just to the right.

Non-throwers are allowed to come join the social throwdown, but trust us, once you come in you’ll want to throw an axe. We also have games, food and drinks available.

Throwing sessions for groups of 5 or more take just about two hours. However, we recommend arriving at least 10 minutes early, as your session begins promptly at the time you booked with a brief training session. If you are in a group of 4 or less, you may reserve a throwing pit for 1 hour.

Be comfortable — it’s a sporting event! The throwing pit area is not air-conditioned so please dress in loose, cool clothing when the weather is warm. During the fall and winter, we do keep it cool, so a flannel, sweater, or sweatshirt is a good idea. For safety purposes, no open-toe shoes or sandals. SANDALS OR FLIP FLOPS ARE NOT PERMITTED.

Training takes about 10-15 minutes. This includes completing the waiver (if you haven’t done so prior to arriving), reviewing safety rules and procedures, and instruction on how to throw a hatchet.

Safety is our highest priority at Stumpy’s. This is a very controlled environment and each person who enters must go through a brief training session before they are allowed to begin their time in the throwing pits.

If any participants in the throwing pit area are not following the rules, we reserve the right to terminate that participant from the area with no refund.

Just yourself, closed toe footwear, and and AXEcellent attitude! We have everything you need here for your hatchet-throwing experience, including delicious bites, soft drinks, beer/wine/hard seltzers.

Stumpy’s is the perfect place for a private party. We have hosted many fundraisers, team building events, and other corporate events in the past. If you would like to have an event with 30 people or more at Stumpy’s Eatontown, please give us a call at (732) 751-4285 or send us an email at: info@stumpyshh.com with the type of event you wish to host in the subject of the email.

Cost for the entire venue is $1000 plus tax per hour. We also host events during any day of the week per request.

Sorry, Stumpy’s is for big kids only – 21 and over!

We ask that you bring your own plates and utensils, but if you run short or forget something, just axe!

We recommend booking as far in advance as possible. Fridays and Saturdays typically fill up first, so be prepared to wait a few weeks if you want to come on a weekend night.

Walk ins are not recommended on the weekend. We’d hate for you to drive far and be turned away. If we have availability, we’d be happy to bring you in. Our reservation system lists all available times for the date. If no times are listed, we don’t have any space. (Sorry!)

We understand things come up and you may have to change your reservation. We just ask for you to notify us as soon as possible when you know you have to cancel or reschedule. If you give us at least 24 hours, we can reschedule you and transfer your deposit. We can refund or transfer your deposit if you cancel 48 hours or more in advance.

Please call us if you are running late. We run a tight schedule that usually doesn’t give us much flexibility. Typically we are unable to make up the time you lost, but if we can, we will. Keep in mind that there will be no price adjustments if you lose time from your reservation due to being late.

The perfect size for a social throwdown is 8-10 people, however we accommodate smaller and larger groups based on availability.

For safety purposes, no open-toe shoes or sandals are permitted in the throwing pit area at Stumpy’s. Again– NO SANDALS OR FLIP FLOPS ARE PERMITTED. Otherwise, Be comfortable– it’s a sporting event! The throwing pit is not air conditioned, though, so please dress in loose, cool clothing in the summer, and a sweatshirt is recommended for the winter.

Sorry, you cannot bring your own hatchet. Our insurance policy requires all of the hatchets to be supplied by us.
