The minimum age requirement for hatchet and axe throwing at Stumpy’s Hatchet House in Jacksonville is 10 for axe throwing. We do have other games for the little ones that don’t include sharp objects. All guests throwing axes under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. PLEASE NOTE: We have a zero-tolerance policy for underage drinking!

After about 10-15 minutes of training, most guests are hitting the target and honing in on the bullseye. When the group feels ready, it is encouraged to try a variety of hatchet and axe throwing target games. Instructions are in the pit, or you can ask a throwing coach. Want a head start on things? Yes! We our Munchies Menu consists of pizza, hot pretzels, empanadas, pickle chips, cheese curds, zucchini sticks and more! Our bar has a wide variety of domestic, imports and local craft beers; varieties of red, white, and rose wines & bubbles, and canned cocktails (High Noons, Manifest Cocktails and Two Chicks cocktails).

Though we will try to accommodate walk-ins whenever possible, it is not something we recommend. We’d hate for you to drive here just to be turned away! Due to the popularity of our hatchet and axe throwing bars, we are normally pretty booked with reservations, especially on the weekends! Our reservation system lists all available times for each day. If no times are listed, we will not have space for you on that date. (Sorry!) However, if we do have time slots available, we’d be happy to bring you in! You can also call us to ask if we can accommodate you and your group.

Of course! We have a variety of games including ping pong, corn hole, StumpPuck, steel tipped darts, beer pong and other giant games. There’s a minimum order of $10 (for drinks, apps, and more). You can stay as long as you want!

We have 6 throwing pits, each with two of our patented target system. Targets are made of poplar boards. We now have one pit dedicated to a “Digital Pit”, where we project a variety of games from Tic Tac Toe to Battleship. This is not a video game- you’re still hurling real axes to the target – just with a different objective.

We sell Table 87 Brooklyn style pizza, popcorn, jerky, and more! We also have beer,  soft drinks, water, iced tea, and Red Bull available for sale. 1

We are open 5 Days a week, Wednesday-Sunday.

• WEDNESDAY-THURSDAY: 5PM-10PM
• FRIDAY: 5PM-MIDNIGHT
• SATURDAY: 2PM-MIDNIGHT
• SUNDAY: 2PM-8PM

**We will open for Private Parties of 10 people or more any day of the week by request. Give us a call to schedule.

Pricing per person is $40 if you are going to throw hatchets. For those who want to be part of the party, but are unable to throw hatchets, the non-thrower fee is $15 plus tax.

If you are part of a group of 1-4 people, you will need a one hour time slot. The cost per person is $25.

Groups of 5 or more will require 2 hours. The cost per person is $40 for the two hour time slot.

Parking is available on North Main Street and in the lot off of Seventh Avenue.

Non-throwers (Debbie Downers) are allowed to come join the social throwdown. The cost is $15 plus tax. All Stumpy’s guests must be 18 or over, whether they are throwing or not.

Throwing sessions for groups of 5 or more take just about two hours. However, we recommend arriving at least 10 minutes early, as your session begins promptly at the time you booked with a brief training session. If you are in a group of 4 or less, you may reserve a throwing pit for 1 hour.

Be comfortable — it’s a sporting event! Please dress in loose, cool clothing when the weather is warm. During the fall and winter, we do keep it cool, so a flannel, sweater, or sweatshirt is a good idea. For safety purposes, no open-toe shoes or sandals. Please wear closed toe shoes.

Training takes about 10 minutes. This includes completing the waiver (if you haven’t done so prior to arriving), reviewing safety rules and procedures, and instruction on how to throw a hatchet.

After about 20  minutes, most guests are hitting the target and honing in on the bullseye. When the group feels ready, they can try a variety of hatchet throwing games. The coach will review how to play the various games.  Ready to take your games to the next level? Ask about availability of our digital throwing pit, with games like Battle Stations, Alien Attack, Bowling & Darts with an axe and MORE! We’re always up to something new!

Safety is our highest priority at Stumpy’s. This is a very controlled environment and each person who enters must go through a brief training session before they are allowed to begin their time in the throwing pits.

If any participants in the throwing pit area are not following the rules, we reserve the right to terminate that participant from the area with no refund.

Just yourself, some fun friends, closed toe footwear, and an AXEcellent attitude! We have everything you need here for your hatchet-throwing experience!

Stumpy’s is the perfect place for a private party. We have hosted many team building events, corporate events and monumental birthday parties that are exciting and memorable. Cost for the entire venue is $1200 plus tax per hour. We also host events during any day of the week. Contact us and we’ll explore the possibilities!

Kids 10 and over are welcome at Stumpy’s anytime before 8 pm and all day Sunday when accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Absolutely! We ask that you bring your own plates and utensils, but if you run short or forget something, just axe!

We recommend booking as far in advance as possible. Fridays and Saturdays typically fill up first.

Walk ins are not recommended on the weekend. We’d hate for you to drive far and be turned away. If we have availability, we’d be happy to bring you in. Our reservation system lists all available times for the date. If no times are listed, we don’t have any space. (Sorry!)

We understand things come up and you may have to change your reservation. We just ask for you to notify us as soon as possible when you know you have to cancel or reschedule. If you give us at least 24 hours, we can reschedule you and transfer your deposit. We can refund or transfer your deposit if you cancel 48 hours or more in advance.

Please call us if you are running late. We run a tight schedule that usually doesn’t give us much flexibility. Typically we are unable to make up the time you lost, but if we can, we will. Keep in mind that there will be no price adjustments if you lose time from your reservation due to being late.

The perfect size for a social throwdown is 6 to 8 people, however we accommodate smaller and larger groups based on availability.

For safety purposes, no open-toe shoes or sandals are permitted in the throwing pit area at Stumpy’s. Again– NO SANDALS OR FLIP FLOPS ARE PERMITTED. Otherwise, Be comfortable– it’s a sporting event!  Please dress in loose, cool clothing in the summer, and a sweatshirt or flannel is recommended for the winter.

Sorry, you cannot bring your own hatchet. Our insurance policy requires all of the hatchets to be supplied by us.
